Artistic Dance Explores the Splendors of the Desert

Opus Cactus celebrates the wilderness of the American Southwest in dance. Human shapes metamorphose into desert blossoms, mutate into creeping centipedes, and modify into multicolored lizards. An arid and desolate landscape transforms into a world of color and imagination with the art of these acrobatic illusionists.

MOMIX founder and director Moses Pendleton has taken Opus Cactus around the world presenting works of inventive dance and astonishing artistry. They last performed in San Antonio about ten years ago at the Lila Cockrell Theatre. Now they are back with new costuming, renewed verve, and original routines.

This excursion into the magic of Sonoran panorama is presented one night only; April 19, 7:30 p.m. at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts. Visit  for more information.
