TAME (Texas Alliance for Minorities in Engineering) club offers family STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) events that provide students and families a chance to find out about STEM classes, summer camps, after-school programs, and scholarships. TAME also offers a robotics competition program for grades 6-12. There is no cost for registering for a TAME club in K-12 schools. To register for a TAME club, all that is required is an adult sponsor, six students in grades K-12, and the ability to meet virtual or in-person regularly to do STEM related activities. It is not required that a teacher, school administrative professional, or STEM professional be involved in the registration process, but they can also initiate the TAME registration process, as well with six interested K-12 students. Involvement in a TAME club provides opportunities in robotics, STEM events and competitions, professional mentorship and scholarships. TAME also accepts volunteers to assist them with their events. The registration deadline for students to join a TAME club in San Antonio is October 27, 2021. The link to register can be accessed here. Dates for TAME's divisional STEM competitions will be released soon. The state TAME competition will take place in April 2022.
